Error 28000 Installation of Acrobat Licensing Module has failed...

I'm having a hard time with this stupid thing.

The error says "For potential workarounds to this problem please refer to http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobat_installation_rollback"

The workaround, doesn't work and I shouldn't have to uninstall working, existing versions of software to run a demo of Adobe Acrobat DC. I cannot recommend purchasing this as an update to our existing software at this point. Which is pretty crappy considering the version of Adobe Acrobat Pro we have does an absolutely dreadful job of converting PDF's to other formats.

Error 28000. Installation of Acrobat Licensing Module has failed?

I just bought Adobe Acrobat Pro DC from Amazon. I was able to verify my purchase and get an official serial number. However, whenever I attempt to install using the serial number, the installation process stops right before the end and displays this error:

"Error 28000.Installation of Acrobat Licensing Module has failed. For potential workarounds to this problem please refer to http://www.adobe.com/go/acrobat_installation_rollback"

And then it rolls back the installation and says "The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Acrobat DC could be completely installed."

I have tried the following:

1) Completely uninstalled all adobe acrobat programs (including a trial version).

2) Import new registry entry (see above link)

3) Ran Adobe Licensing Repair Tool (on the offchance that it might solve the issue, even though it's for Acrobat 8 and 9)

So far nothing has changed anything. Still getting the exact same error.

Any thoughts on how I might fix the issue would be much appreciated!

Edit: I am currently running Windows 8 64-bit.

Hello,

I have Acrobat X Pro version 10.0.0

I have downloaded AcrobatUpd10115.msp file but when I run it I am receiving the following error.

"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch."

How to update and why when I go to Help -> Check for updates... menu there is no update found?

Thanks,

Acrobat keeps shutting down

I have Acrobat Pro Extended 9.4 on a Windows Vista PC.  My version of Acrobat is no longer supported and there are no more updates.  It keeps shutting down.  Do I have to upgrade and how and to what?  I am almost finished writing a book and need to use Adobe to upload it to the printers.  Any suggestions?

HERE'S THE ACROBAT 9.X FRESH INSTALL AND UPDATE FIX

$

For those of you having to do a fresh install of Adobe 9.x Pro or Pro Extended on ANY O/S, here's the answer to all of your concerns...

To begin with, I have an advanced degree in computer science from M.I.T. and just like the rest of you, I discovered that although I own and have a serial number for the product, all of the Adobe staff simply direct you to the latest URL to install and pay for the Adobe Acrobat DC (Cloud) version that is all hosted on the web and not on your computer like the previous versions of Acrobat were.  Personally, I do not like having all of my documents hosted on the web for security and privacy reasons.  If Adobe were to get hacked then all of your data is history.  I also don't want either the Chinese or NSA snooping through my stuff either.  So here you go...

Reboot your computer and don't open anything but your browser.  Then navigate to the original Adobe FTP file transfer site located at...

ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/9.x/

Now the part you are going to hate...  You are going to have to click on and install each and every file in sequential order according to their creation date.  This is going to take some time and about a dozen or so restarts.  Now the good news; after each update installs, open Acrobat 9.x and click on "Help" then "Check for Updates."  In my case, after I installed the first Acrobat 9.3.x update I was able to perform this procedure and Acrobat automatically went out and grabbed the update for the last version of Acrobat which was 9.5.5.  You may be able to have Acrobat 9.x grab the last version sooner than me.  Others may have to go through the entitre process installing each update manually.

The bottom line is this:  If you follow these instruction exactly as I have just given them to you, you will soon have your old paid-for Acrobat up and running like it did originally with all of the security patches in place without having to buy yet another version of the latest and greatest Acrobat from Adobe that doesn't do any more than your original version did.

I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

I installed the trial version of Acrobat Pro DC and there is a message on the Home tab that Acrobat Pro DC is installed.

But on the Apps tab, it says that no application is installed yet. I saw that Acrobat Pro DC appeared on the Apps tab, but it disappeared soon.

I already tried everything. Uninstalling all of the Adobe products, deleting OPM.db file etc.

I've tried a few times to download and install Pro DC and I keep getting this error message: Adobe is not currently available for your language or Platform. I have Vista...should be compatible. Can someone point me in the right direction?

can't reinstall acrobat x pro from CS6 Design Student

I recently purchased CS6 Design Studen & Teacher edition. About a month after I completed my registrated, Acrobat X Pro stopped working.

Before you mention it: I've seen the other thread on the subject, and have followed the steps on that thread (deactivating and reactivating another adobe product). The problem is, BEFORE I did that, I had already uninstalled Acrobat, thinking I could reinstall it and it might work.

Every time I try to reinstall Acrobat, I get error messages that look something like this:

Exit Code: 6

It worked fine the first time I installed it. How can I get it to install again?

I purchased Acrobat Pro DC Upgrade. The latest update (15.006.30060 Planned Update, July 14, 2015) now allows keeping Acrobat XI.

Question 1: Does it also keep other installed versions? This is crucial for us since we interface our product via a Plugin to Acrobat, and must support customers with all kind of Acrobat versions.

Question 2: How can I install the update without deinstalling previous versions. I assume that I should not upgrade from the purchased DVD.

Acrobat appears to hijack my print screen.

I do a fair amount of print screen operations.  In the last week, whenever I click print screen (for instructions on how to make greeting cards using Paper Wishes products) my print screen page now only allows me to save it as a PDF. How do I stop Acrobat from hijacking my Windows Print Screen function? I'm on an Alienware Aurora R4 Windows machine and I use Google as my internet browser. MacAfee is my preferred virus protection on this computer.
